Rochelle Feinstein, Painter and printmaker

Ms. Feinstein received a B.F.A. from Pratt Institute in 1975 and an M.F.A. fromthe University of Minnesota in 1978. She lives and works in New York City. Her
work is exhibited widely in solo and group exhibitions in galleries and museums
in the United States and Europe, and is included in numerous public and private
collections. Among recent awards and grants she has received: a Guggenheim
Fellowship, a Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation Fellowship, the Radcliffe Institute
for Advanced Study Fellowship, a Joan Mitchell Foundation grant, and a
Foundation for Contemporary Arts grant. In 2012 she was an artist in residence
at the Foundation for Contemporary Arts in Accra, Ghana, under the auspices of
the U.S. State Department Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and the
Bronx Museum. She will have major surveys of her work in 2016 and 2017 at
Centre d’Art Contemporain, Geneva, Switzerland, Lenbachhaus, Munich,
Germany, Kestner Gesellschaft, Hannover, Germany and the Bronx Museum of
the Arts, New York in 2018. Recent publications include I’m With Her (2015),
Black Dog Publishing, Verbatim Hoc Moda/The Abramovic Method (2015), On
Stellar Rays,pub and Rochelle Feinstein (2016), Walter Koenig publ. Ms. Feinstein was appointed to the Yale faculty in 1994 as professor of painting/printmaking and became Professor Emerita in 2017.
