The Fall 2026 Paul Rand Lecture Series in Graphic Design continues with a talk by Paul Bailey.

Paul Bailey is an Irish graphic designer, researcher, and educator based in London, UK. His practice spans the intersection of education, curation, and communication design, made public through international exhibitions, workshops, and publications. He is currently a Professor of Communication Design & Research at the Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design (HfG), Germany. Bailey also regularly contributes as an examiner, speaker, or consultant to programmes at institutions including National College of Art & Design (IE), Goldsmiths, University of London (UK), and the Royal College of Art (UK). He leads an independent, London-based design-research studio, serving a roster of internationally notable commissioners including Forensic Architecture, the V&A, RIBA and IMMA. Bailey's career blends commissioned design projects with self-initiated, critical research, supported by institutes and organisations such as the Jan van Eyck Academie (NL), the Rauschenberg Foundation (USA), and KASK & Conservatorium, Belgium, where Bailey initiated a PhD in the Arts.
