Troy Michie, Lecturer

Troy Michie received a BFA from the University of Texas at El Paso in 2009 and an MFA from the Yale School of Art in Painting/Printmaking in 2011. He has taught printmaking and drawing at Vassar College and at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. Michie’s work has been exhibited in the United States and abroad, including the New Museum, the Studio Museum in Harlem, the Contemporary Arts Museum in Houston, the Stedelijk Museum ’s-Hertogenbosch, the Leslie- Lohman Museum of Gay and Lesbian Art, and the Artist’s Institute. He has received grants and fellowships from the Rema Hort Mann Foundation, Art Matters, Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, the Fine Arts Work Center, Recess Art and Denniston Hill. His first solo exhibition “Fat Cat Came to Play” at Company gallery was recently reviewed in the March issue of Art In America. Mr. Michie is based in Brooklyn, New York.
