PHOTOSHOP SPEWS RANDOM CHARACTERS
If you see strange gibberish appear on printouts when printing to the laser printers from Photoshop, follow the directions below.
When sending files from Photoshop to the printers (especially the RICOH) make sure that you are sending ASCII data, not Binary.
For CS2: After you choose Print, click on Output and then look at the Encoding option.
This may default to Binary, but you should make sure that you send the jobs as ASCII or ASCII85 so that you do not cause the printer to spit out the many pages of gibberish.
For CS3: After you choose Print, click on *Color Management and go to Output. Look at the Encoding option.
This may default to Binary, but you should make sure that you send the jobs as ASCII or ASCII85 so that you do not cause the printer to spit out the many pages of gibberish.

TOO MANY PIECES OF PAPER COMING OUT?
All printers have a cancel job button (often requiring confirmation) that you can press to stop the current job.
If you send a job and then notice lots of paper coming out with just a few characters on each page you should cancel the job and then check to make sure your printer settings are correct.
It is possible the wrong driver is being used, or the wrong kind of data is being sent to the printer.
