John Gambell, Graphic Designer

Mr. Gambell received a B.A. in English from Middlebury College in 1971. From 1977 to 1979 he studied printmaking and graphic design at Wesleyan University and worked on a range of photographic printing projects under the direction of Richard Benson in Newport, Rhode Island. After receiving his M.F.A. from Yale University in 1981, he served as graphic designer at the Yale University Printing Service. In 1987 he established a design studio in New Haven that produced a range of print publications and museum exhibition catalogs, as well as signage and packaging. He has been teaching graphic design since 1983 and was appointed senior critic in 1998. Mr. Gambell is the Yale University Printer.
