Erin Shirreff, Sculptor
Ms. Shirreff received a B.F.A. in 1998 from the University of Victoria, British Columbia, and an M.F.A. in sculpture from Yale School of Art in 2005. Still, Flat, and Far, a solo exhibition of her video, photographs, and sculpture was held at the Institute of Contemporary Art, Philadelphia, in 2010. Her work was included in recent exhibitions at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Denver, the Power Plant in Toronto, the Aspen Art Museum, MoMA, P.S.1, Sculpture Center, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Ballroom Marfa, White Flag Projects, and the Contemporary Art Museum in St. Louis. She was artist-in-residence at the Chinati Foundation in 2011 and is the recipient of a 2011 Canada Council grant. Ms. Shirreffâ??s work has been reviewed in Artforum, The New Yorker, Frieze, The New York Times, and Modern Painters and is included in the permanent collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, and the Guggenheim Museum. She was appointed lecturer in sculpture in 2011.
