SUBJECTIVE DOCUMENTS AND EXPERIMENTAL NARRATIVES

FILMMAKING/VIDEO/INTERDISCIPLINARY Art 902a or b, Subjective Documents and Experimental Narratives: A Weekly Screening Program and All-School Video Critique Lab.
B03 Green(Smart Room) Tuesday 11:00-3:30

Students are invited to participate in this weekly event consisting of programmed screenings, visiting artists, student presentations and discussion. Each week John Pilson will present a 100min film video program examining various moving image histories, practices and critical issues followed by student screenings and presentations. Attention will be given all aspects of student productions both technical and conceptual. Video and moving image work is increasingly explored throughout the School of Art. Hopefully this weekly event will bring students from all corners to give shape and form to the evolving discussion of the moving image as a truly interdisciplinary medium. Screening programs will be posted each week in the School of Art’s iCal page. Students are encouraged to schedule their screenings in advance by contacting John directly at john.pilson@yale.edu. Special consideration will be given to allow for the presentation of Installations and/or site specific work. Students who plan to attend class weekly and wish to receive credit can elect ART 902a; others are welcome to participate ad-hoc on a regular or irregular basis.
