Sculpture Art659, What It’s Like to be a Thing

This class explores ideas about object hood and process through readings on environmental philosophy and artists whose work has been defined with post human studies. The semester will be divided between activity-based fieldĀ trips where we discuss our understanding of objects and readings, discussion, writing and critiques. These different course experiences will serve as a lens for investigating how to make artistic practices interrogate what it means to be human and speculate the reality of things that interact with and perceive one another, invisibly and everyday.

Meets six times for 1.5 credits
