ART 550A SPECIAL PROJECTS IN PRINTMAKING

PAINTING / PRINTMAKING, Art 551a, Special Projects in Printmaking
C014 Green Hall; TBA

A course designed for those with experience and who wish to create etchings, relief prints, lithographs, silkscreens and hybrid forms. All participants must have demonstrated capability in their selected media. Open to 1st & 2nd year Graduate Students. Prerequisite: knowledge of printmaking and permission of instructor. Individual meetings will be held with the instructor on a weekly basis in an advisory capacity, in the printstudio, the student’s studio, or another Yale campus resource location, such as the YUAG or the Beinecke. All Special Projects participants will meet every 3 weeks for a group critique (time to be announced). Submit jpegs of 5 previous prints to rochelle.feinstein@yale.edu for admission. ART 550b, Graduate Printmaking
C014 T 9:30-12:30

Interdisciplinary – open to grads from Painting, Sculpture, Photography and Graphic Design. This course is intended for graduate students who wish to develop individual projects in a wide range of printmaking mediums, including both traditional techniques and digital processes and outputs. Participants develop new works and present them in biweekly group critiques. Students should have sufficient technical background in traditional printmaking mediums (etching, lithography, silkscreen, or relief) as well as a fundamental understanding of graphic programs such as Photoshop. Demonstrations in traditional mediums are offered in the print studio. Students use the DMCA for digital work. Marie Lorenz
