ART 540a, Graduate Drawing Seminar
C220 GREEN, R 9:30-12:30

The immediacy of drawing allows the artist to quickly and spontaneously explore new concepts and emotions. In this course, students will focus on drawing as a generative process that allows for rapid experimentation within their work. Class time will focus on the discussion and critique of weekly projects. Discussions will address such topics as drawing as a subjective response to cultural forces and drawing as personal expression in the context of the much-debated “crisis of originality.” Please note that for the purposes of this seminar, drawing will be defined inclusively and not limited to the traditional graphic media.
