Further exploration of concepts and techniques in painting, emphasizing the individuation of students’ pictorial language. Class investigations encompass various approaches to representational and abstract painting. Studio work is complemented by in-depth discussion of issues in historical and contemporary painting. Materials fee: $150 per term. Clinton Jukkala.

Enrollment limited to 15. Prerequisites: ART 230a and 231b or, with permission of instructor, ART 130a or b and 114a or b.
