Anna Craycroft, Painter

Ms. Craycroft received her BA in 1998 from the Slade School of Art in London and her MFA in 2004 from Columbia University. She has exhibited her work in galleries, museums and public art exhibitions throughout New York, Los Angeles and Europe. Her exhibit Subject of Learning/ Object of Study at the Blanton Museum of Art in Austin Texas in 2010 integrated an elaborate program of workshops and events into her installations. Her solo exhibitions for commercial galleries include: “Drawn to Repeating Patterns” upcoming in 2011 and ‚The Agency of the Orphan‚?Ě in 2008 at Tracy Williams, Ltd., New York, and ‚The Intimate Furnishings of Ignis Fatuus‚?Ě in 2005 at Le Case D‚Arte, Milan, Italy. Her works have also been exhibited as part of numerous group shows and collaborative projects including the 2005 ‚Greater New York‚?Ě show at PS1, and ‚??Freedom: American Sculpture‚?Ě at Den Haag Sculptuur, The Hague. In 2009 Ms. Craycroft curated a performance series entitled “Staging the Phenomenal Character”. For this exhibition she cumulatively fabricated and installed a series of sculptures made in response to each performance. In 2011 Ms. Craycroft curated the First Year MFA exhibition at Columbia University School of Arts. She is represented by Tracy Williams Ltd. and was appointed lecturer in painting/printmaking in 2011.
